ARS Master Rosarian Designation
Hello Buckeye Rosarians:
The American Rose Society (ARS) states that the Consulting Rosarian (CR) is among the most knowledgeable and active people in the ARS.
The Master Rosarian (MR) Designation was created to recognize those CRs who have made outstanding contributions as CRs over a significant period of time.
Since inception in 2004 through 2021, there have been 840 MR Designations granted. There were 17 in the year 2021 for a total of 857. This is not an award, or the CR Emeritus status. It is a designation.
All CRs with ten years or more of service and a willingness to continue to serve in this role should be considered for Designation.
A two page “Master Rosarian Designation” description is attached below. These are pages 2-9 and 2-10 of the CR Manual 3/2021 edition. Basic Requirements include:
- achieved a minimum of ten years of continuous service as an active CR
- demonstrate outstanding performance following the “Instructions for Master Rosarian Application” attached below and completing the three page “Master Rosarian Application Form” also attached below
- actively accredited CR at the time of the nomination
- show a willingness to continue to serve as a CR
As your Buckeye District CR Chair, I am announcing the “call for nominations to MR Designations.”
Each local society President is requested to inform their Membership.
The Buckeye District President is requested to put this on the District Website.
- CRs may nominate themselves; be nominated by other ARS members; or be nominated by a Committee of their local rose society or the District
- there are no limits to the number of yearly selections of MRs
- each nomination form must be completed in its entirety; a ‘yes” response is not sufficient
- the nomination form is to be emailed, not sent in through the postal service of faxed to the District CR Chair who will work with Chris Brogan, the District President and Audrey Palumbo, District Director for a decision to send the name to ARS for final approval
The process includes these dates:
- June 11 to August 15 submit nominations to the District CR Chair, Ann Schlinkert email anntwise@gmail.com
- August 15 to September 1 District Committee completes review
- September 1 to September 10 the National CR Committee reviews and make final decisions
